Luggage
While your hotel will have an elevator, it is advised to travel light and to only bring as big a suitcase as you can carry yourself. It is your responsibility to carry your luggage at all times.
Itinerary pace
This is a slow-paced itinerary that will allow you to discover the city and its surroundings in depth. While there are no long travel days, you will generally have an early start in the morning to make sure you get to appreciate everything the city has to offer.
Weather
Sardinia is lovely in October. Days are still long and warm – if not plainly hot at times. Since there are chances of rain as it will be the very beginning of the fall, make sure to pack a rain jacket and umbrella, and check the temperatures and weather broadcast for Cagliari before you leave so you can pack accordingly.
Meals
Eating is a very important part of any trip, and it allows you to appreciate the city you are visiting better. We understand the importance of breakfast, which is why it is always included in the itinerary. You will have many opportunities to taste the local flavors and your guide will be available to provide explanations on the various specialties you may try.
While a few group meals are scheduled already, the rest will be free for you to enjoy the many delicious restaurants around the city. Your guide will be able to book a restaurant for you if needed.

How to join this tour
You are responsible for purchasing your own flights to Cagliari. Direct flights to Cagliari are available with Italian carrier ITA from Milan Linate Airport and from Rome Fiumicino Airport. Various budget airlines, including Ryanair and Easyjet, have regular flights from a variety of other destinations in Italy.
There are direct flights to Cagliari from various cities in Europe, including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt.
If you are traveling from outside of Europe, it is advised that you book a connecting flight either via Rome Fiumicino or via Milan Linate.

You can also opt to book a private transfer. In that case, we will need the following information:
- Flight number
- Flight arrival date and time
- Your full name, email, and phone number
- The number of passengers traveling with you
- Your final destination in Cagliari in case you are arriving before the start of the tour
Please note that day 1 is an arrival day, with no scheduled activities other than the introductory meeting and dinner. We will be glad to help you plan activities before and after your arrival in Sardinia, for a nominal fee.
If you are arriving later in the evening and will miss the introductory meeting, your tour guide will leave a note for you at reception with any information you may need, including instructions for the following day.

What to pack
To get a good idea of what to pack for your trip to Sardinia, make sure to read our packing guide. As a general reference, make sure to bring comfortable clothes and walking shoes, and remember that Cagliari is rather hilly. Try to pack light and remember you are responsible for carrying your own luggage.

Italy Entry Requirements
If you are traveling from outside the European Union, you will need a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months’ validity) to travel to Italy. Make sure to contact your local embassy or consulate to check the visa requirements for traveling to Italy, if applicable. Visa requirements will vary depending on where you are from.
Electricity
Italy operates on a 220V supply voltage and 50Hz. You will need a type C 2-prong adapter.
Languages
The official languages of Sardinia are Italian, Sardinian, and in certain areas Catalan too. Most younger generations speak at least a basic level of English, which is howeve,r widely spoken in all tourist areas.
Currency and Money Exchange
As one of Italy’s regions, Sardinia is also part of the Eurozone, and the currency is the Euro. You can exchange money (usually USD and GBP) at most local banks, and ATMs are commonly available. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted.
Tipping
There is no custom for tipping in Italy, and it is not expected, though it is definitely welcome. This applies to restaurants, hotels, drivers, and guides.
Safety in Sardinia
Sardinia is generally very safe, but it’s a good idea to keep an eye on your belongings at all times, especially in crowded places. It’s important to note that wearing seat belts is customary in Italy, even on the bus.
Travel Insurance
You need to have travel insurance to participate in this trip. You will be requested to communicate your travel insurance number to our team to complete your booking. We request that your insurance policy covers you for a minimum of medical expenses, including emergency evacuation and repatriation, and a minimum coverage of €200,000.
We also recommend that your insurance policy covers you for personal liability, trip cancellation and lost luggage.
If you have credit card insurance, please contact your bank to find out the name and details of your insurance company, the kind of coverage you have, and your policy number, and make sure to communicate them to us before the trip. This is only applicable if you are purchasing this trip with said credit card.
