Are you traveling to La Maddalena and looking for the best La Maddalena hotels? I have you covered! Lucky for you I visit La Maddalena on a regular basis, so I know many excellent places to stay in the area.
Located in the north-east of Sardinia, La Maddalena Archipelago National Park includes two main islands, La Maddalena and Caprera, five smaller islands, Spargi, Santo Stefano, Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria, and 62 tiny islets.
La Maddalena is the only island of the archipelago with a residential area, so that’s where you’ll have to stay if you are visiting. There’s also a resort on Santo Stefano, if that’s the kind of experience you wish. I haven’t been there so I can’t comment on it.
If you are picking La Maddalena as your base for your next Sardinia holidays and you are looking for the best places to stay in La Maddalena, continue reading: I have picked the best hotels in La Maddalena for any budget.

The Best La Maddalena Hotels
Grand Hotel Resort&SPA Ma&Ma – Adults Only
Not far from Punta Tegge, one my favorite places to enjoy the sunset in La Maddalena, you can find this adults-only five-stars hotel – definitely one of the best hotels in La Maddalena.
Here all rooms are nicely decorated, have air conditioning, satellite flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, mini-bar and a balcony. Rooms are well soundproofed, so you can sleep soundly every night.
Unfortunately only some rooms have the views of La Maddalena Archipelago.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a SPA: spoil yourself with one of their treatments.
You’ll certainly love the continental breakfast buffet, served in a communal area or on a terrace with views of the swimming pool. Alternatively, you can enjoy breakfast in your room.
Private parking is free and if you are environmentally conscious and have an electric car, you can also charge it here.
When going to one of the many unequipped beaches, the lunch box dutifully prepared by the chef of the hotel will be an extra comfort! The hotel has its own restaurant, a pizzeria is located just next to the hotel and you will find a bar on site, perfect for a drink before or after dinner.
If you are traveling with your pet, you can opt for a family room – there is a small additional charge for cleaning at the end of your stay.
An additional tip! When booking your room at Grand Hotel Resort&SPA Ma&Ma, remember to choose a room with view of the sea: you won’t be disappointed by the beauty of the landscape and the colors of the sunset.

Hotel Villa del Parco
Just outside the town of La Maddalena, away from the noise, you will find Hotel Villa del Parco. This is usually my preference whenever I travel to La Maddalena. In this family-run hotel you will meet Doriana and her staff at the reception and Enzo for the boat tours around the archipelago.
Villa Del Parco, in fact, arranges boat trips to Corsica and around the islands of La Maddalena Archipelago.
All rooms at Villa del Parco have free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a very useful kitchenette where you can prepare a salad or a pasta dish to eat at the beach, and a nice balcony where you can enjoy a sunset drink or a cup of coffee in the morning.
Every morning you’ll find a buffet breakfast with a wide variety of top-quality products, freshly baked and cooked every day. There are options for people with lactose and gluten intolerance, and lots of vegan options too.
The hotel has convenient parking spaces for a small daily fee, but there is a large (and free) parking lot at the bottom of the street where it is located.
Pets are welcome at Villa del Parco. I regularly see families traveling with their dog, and in fact Doriana and Enzo have their own beautiful dogs and a cat on the premises too.
You can also ask the caring stuff to organize transfers to and from Olbia Airport or Palau.

Hotel Excelsior
Hotel Excelsior is a four-star hotel, located next to the tourist harbor of La Maddalena and near the historic center of the town. It is one of the best hotels in La Maddalena and in fact the location is excellent!
Rooms at Hotel Excelsior have classic Italian furniture, flat screen TV, safe-box, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Only some rooms offer views of the sea. Some have a jacuzzi and very modern showers.
Anyway, every morning, you can enjoy a generous and varied breakfast with the most beautiful sunrise view on the panoramic outdoor terrace.
At sunset or when the light of the moon illuminates the island Santo Stefano, you can enjoy one of the cocktails on the panoramic terrace.
The check-in service is easy and fast, in fact it is requested to send identity documents in advance so by the time you arrive you just have to pick up your keys.
Staff at the hotel will be available to help you organize guided boat tours, guided hikes and will also help you rent a bike to explore the island. The hotel also offers a transfer service from and to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport. An additional service for guests is laundry.
There isn’t a private car park at Hotel Excelsior but you can leave your car in a free public parking in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, it gets quite busy during high season so it may be difficult to find a spot there.

Clelia’s Boutique Rooms & Suites
Clelia’s Boutique Rooms & Suites is located in the heart of the town, at walking distance from the ferry harbor, and from there you can easily reach the best restaurants of La Maddalena, and all the shops.
Rooms at Clelia’s were completely renovated in 2019 with air conditioning, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and a small fridge.
Breakfast is not available on site but is served in a local café nearby – so you would be in for the typical Italian breakfast at a café experience – opt for a scrumptious cornetto and cappuccino. For an extra coffee, there is a coffee machine located in the lobby.
Thanks to the self-check in system, reception is always at your disposal.
Luca, the host, is always very helpful with tips for restaurants, beaches and excursions.
There isn’t a private car park and in high season it might get challenging to find one nearby. However, if you are not bringing a car, this is a fantastic option and it remains one of my favorite La Maddalena Hotels.

B&B Villa Sprafundu
If you want to enjoy nature and stay away from traffic and noise, B&B Villa Sprafundu is the best hotel in La Maddalena.
It’s a bit far away from town (just a few minutes’ drive) but this beautiful villa has a stunning view of the Maddalena Archipelago, a relaxing garden with a terrace and a shared lounge.
All rooms at Villa Sprafundu have a balcony, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and, last but not least, an amazing view. All guests are welcome to use the communal kitchen and the washing machine, both very useful if you plan to stay long enough to enjoy all the beauties and the beaches of the Archipelago.
A buffet breakfast is served daily on the terrace when the weather is nice (which is pretty much every day during the summer).
The hosts and their staff are kind and helpful, their tips of where to go and what to do in La Maddalena are definitely an added bonus.
This is one of the best La Maddalena hotels if you are traveling with your pet, too: all pets are welcome here.
There is a private car park next to the villa so you won’t have troubles finding a parking spot.
Overall, B&B Villa Sprafundu is very good value for money.

Guest House Villabianca
Located in the town of La Maddalena, just a few minutes’ drive away from the main street, Villabianca is a cozy B&B.
Rooms here are big, nicely decorated and with a balcony. They have air conditioning, a mini fridge, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi.
Every morning breakfast is served in the dining room: it’s a great way of starting your day.
The staff is very friendly and have a good knowledge of the area, so they will give you very useful information about beaches and excursions you can opt for – it’s particularly important when looking for a beach that is sheltered from the wind!
There is a free parking area next to Villabianca, so if you are driving to La Maddalena you won’t have to worry about a parking spot.

Il Giardino Di Tatiana Rooms & Breakfast
Not far from the ferry harbor and walking distance from restaurants and shops, Il Giardino Di Tatiana Rooms & Breakfast is a lovely and peaceful place where to relax and a great place to stay in La Maddalena.
Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, free Wi-Fi and a terrace or patio.
What makes the difference in this B&B is the beautiful garden where you can have breakfast every morning, read a book or just enjoy the sun. A superb breakfast is served daily with homemade quiches and cakes, local honeys and jams, delicious smoothies and great coffee. There are lactose free and gluten free options too.
The hostess is hospitable and very kind, she is always available to provide local advice on everything you need to know about the islands.
There is a free public car park within short walking distance from the property, but the hotel also offers bike rental, if you prefer a more environmentally sustainable way of moving around. Don’t know how to get to La Maddalena? Don’t worry! A shuttle service to Olbia airport is available upon request at an extra cost.
Overall, this is one of the best hotels in La Maddalena, and great value for money.

B&B Il Corallo
Would you like to wake up with an amazing view of the beach and feel the breeze on your face? Have you dreamt about staying a few steps away from the beach? If your answer is yes, this is definitely the best hotel in La Maddalena for you.
B&B Il Corallo is located just outside town but right in front of the beach: you can be there in moments.
All rooms have sea views, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and a mini-fridge. Breakfast is served daily on the terrace. The buffet varies every day and includes cakes, fruits, cheese, eggs and a selection of Italian and local pastries and breads.
The hosts are friendly, kind and attentive to guests’ needs.
E-bikes are available for rent at B&B Il Corallo. You can explore the islands of La Maddalena and Caprera by bike and leave your car in a free parking area next to the hotel. Finally, pets are allowed to stay too – you can discuss the details with the hosts upon making a reservation.

Residenza Marginetto
Residenza Marginetto, located in the north part of the island, provides small holiday homes and apartments where a couple or a family can relax feeling like at home. The flats have a kitchenette, washing machine, flat-screen TV, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and BBQ facilities.
Every unit comes with a little garden and an outdoor shower and has direct access to a small beach.
There is a free private parking available. It’s an overall great place to stay in La Maddalena if you prefer self catering.

Villa Grace
If you like to enjoy your holiday with your big family and your pets, Villa Grace is a big beautiful house perfect for a group of up to seven people.
Located in the east part of the island of La Maddalena, inside a locality known as Piras village, it is five-minute’s drive to town.
The villa has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a garden and a terrace with sea views. You will find all comforts such as air conditioning, washing machine, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi with streaming services, BBQ and free private parking.
Franco, the host, is kind and helpful. Bike and car rental service are available at Villa Grace. Keep in mind that if you decide to stay here you will likely need a car or, as a minimum, a bike to explore the island and for food shopping.
The cost of staying at Villa Grace is very reasonable, especially in low season.

Hotel Cala Lunga
If you want access to a private beach, look no further. Cala Lunga is the only hotel on the island of La Maddalena with a private beach. It is located in the north part of the island, in the bay of Porto Massimo, next to three beautiful coves.
Beach umbrellas and sun loungers are provided for free at the beach or by the outdoor pool, which has an amazing view of the beach.
Rooms are decorated in typical Sardinian style and are all equipped with air conditioning, mini-fridge, safe, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a private balcony with sea views.
Guests can enjoy meals at Il Mirto Restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, with a la-carte menu, or at Le Terrazze Restaurant, open for dinner only, with a fixed dinner menu that focuses on Sardinian flavors. If you just want a drink, go to Cormorano pool bar.
At Cala Lunga hotel you will wake up every morning to a fantastic breakfast with options for traditional Italian style or continental breakfast, as well as vegetarian and gluten free options.
Reception staff is always available to help you plan activities such as boat tours, hikes and other visits. There a free car park available for guests.
